November 11, 2009 - Afternoon Forecast
Good Veterans Day to you!
A much drier air mass continues to filter into the western portion of the southeast today, as Ida moves farther east, eventually making its way into the Atlantic. We have a pleasant set up for the next several days, with sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to upper sixties. Today will be mostly sunny with a high of sixty-eight degrees. Winds will be a little bit higher this morning, 10 to 15 mph, as high pressure begins to makes its way into Mississippi and Ida treks eastward, however they will die down overnight tonight into tomorrow morning.
Clear conditions and rather low dew points will allow for some radiational cooling tonight, however winds will prevent us from dipping down into the thirties. We’ll reach a low of forty-three degrees tonight.
Thursday will be almost a carbon copy of today, but a few degrees cooler, with a high of sixty-six degrees. Weekend looks nice, with high pressure sticking around through Sunday. Stay tuned for more Campus Connect updates.
