October 26, 2009 Morning Forecast

Good morning and welcome to the second full week of our brand new Campus Connect forecast here at MSU!

We've got a very nice autumn day in store for us this Monday, with mostly sunny skies giving way to more clouds as the day goes on.  Your noon temperature will be in the mid 60s today and the high will struggle to get much higher than that as more and more clouds roll in by 5pm.  That cloud cover will adversely not allow the overnight temperatures to reach as low as they have been, as we should expect a low on Monday night only in the low 50s. Moisture associated with wind from the Gulf of Mexico will finally lead to even more rain (as if we need it) that should begin to fall in east Mississippi early Tuesday morning, around 5am.

The rain chances will continue throughout the day Tuesday, with areas of dense fog in the morning and steady rain in the middle of the day that could reach an inch in areas of the Magnolia State.  Once the best chances of rain exit our area on Tuesday, we are not high and dry yet, as the models show elements coming together for even more rain and possible thunderstorms later in our week.  Stay tuned to future Campus Connect forecasts for details on this potentially high-impact weather later in this the final week in October.
